S2016e Edged In Lace - Square shawl or throw ~ PDF Digital Download
This simple garter stitch square is knit in the round from the center out and then bound off in your choice of four different lace edgings. It can be made in many different weights of yarn to any size desired.
Size: Make in any size.
A 36" to 40" square in lace weight makes a warm shoulder shawl.
Create a warmer wrap or baby blanket in fingering or sport yarn.
In DK, a 40"- 48" square is a great lap robe and a 50"- 60" square a cozy afghan.
Yarn Requirements: These are the yardages, finished blocked sizes and needle sizes that were used for the samples shown.
1. Lace weight: Shown in hand dyed cashmere/silk from Jade Sapphire. Knit on size 6 (4mm) needle to a size of 38" it used 900 yds (823m).
2. Fingering weight (purple): Shown in Shepherd Sock from Lorna's Laces. Knit on size 7 (4.5mm) needle to a size of 48" it used 1200 yds (1097m).
3. Sport weight (rose baby blanket): Shown in sport wt alpaca from. Knit on size 8 (5mm) needle to a size of 42" it used 800 yds (731m).
